The exhibition brings together some of Fuzhou’s most representative crafts. It features the brilliant hues of lacquer art, the refined elegance of Shoushan stone carvings, the intricate beauty of wood carvings, and the delicate precision of cork paintings. Notably, Shoushan stone carving, Fuzhou bodiless lacquerware techniques, and cork painting are recognized as national intangible cultural heritage items, while Fuzhou wood carving (Xiangyuan) holds the status of provincial intangible cultural heritage.

The collection of hundreds of meticulously chosen masterpieces not only represents the artisans' dedication but also vividly showcases the depth of Chinese cultural expression and creativity. Each piece embodies Fuzhou’s rich cultural heritage and the exceptional skill of its artisans, exuding grandeur and reflecting the spirit of the times, or depicting life’s tender moments with subtle beauty, collectively portraying the dynamic evolution of Chinese society.

This exhibition is divided into four sections : “Lacquered Chapters of Min Capital”, “Treasures from the Heart of Min”, “Intricate Carvings of Three Mountains” and “Masterful Creations of Zuohai”. Visitors can immerse themselves in the elegance and charm of traditional arts and crafts, leaving with cherished memories unique to Fuzhou.

Fuzhou, historically known as Min Capital, is a city celebrated as the “Seaside Zou Lu” (a term referring to areas known for cultural richness and etiquette, originating from Zou and Lu, the birthplaces of Confucius and Mencius in the Spring and Autumn Period (770–476 BC)). Encircled by mountains and bordered by the sea, with the Min River coursing through and two iconic towers standing guard, Fuzhou has long been a hub of culture and talent. The city's exquisite traditional arts and crafts further enrich its legacy, earning it widespread acclaim.

Through the passage of time, countless artisans have pursued beauty with unwavering dedication, embodying the spirit of craftsmanship as they refine their skills. These artisans not only preserve age-old traditions but also boldly innovate, infusing new life and energy into these crafts to keep them relevant in modern society.
