Spring Festival is the grandest traditional festival in China. The exhibition seeks to showcase the vigor and vitality of this spiritual symbol of Chinese civilization, while celebrating the renewal of nature and life at the start of a new year.

Diverse folk customs are observed to mark the festive season, including Laba Festival, Kitchen God Festival, Chinese New Year's Eve, Spring Festival,  and Lantern Festival. These traditions convey wishes for harmony between humanity and nature, prosperity for all, and the cultivation of virtues such as kindness, friendliness, respect, tenderness, and harmony. They also inspire motivation, perseverance, and the pursuit of values like benevolence, honesty, credibility, justice, collaboration, and great harmony during this transition from the old to the new.

In December 2024, Spring Festival  and its social practices for celebrating the traditional New Year were added to UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Through an artistic display of representative Spring Festival-related items of intangible cultural heritage, this exhibition invites people from all corners of the world to rediscover the essence of home and to experience the admirable, vibrant, and culturally rich spirit of China.
