Contemporary Chinese arts and crafts showcase a pursuit of beauty, embody creative wisdom and vitality, and brim with the essence of Chinese culture that harmonizes the unity of heaven and humanity, respect for nature and materials, and harmonious coexistence.

Contemporary Chinese arts and crafts keep pace with the times, presenting new and diverse colors. At the level of understanding, contemporary arts and crafts have evolved from traditional craftsmanship to the expansion of material culture — not only referring to beautified handmade products but also extending to philosophical reflections on how humans construct the meaning of life through manual methods. In practice, arts and crafts always reflect the unity of aesthetic creation and technical practice. Contemporary creators not only continue to pursue their artistic expression but also inject a sense of realism into material application and functional design. In terms of cultural value, while achieving the aestheticization of life, arts and crafts continuously strengthen their cultural power of inheriting the past and inspiring the present, vividly demonstrating the multiple dimensions and broad scope of the modern form of Chinese civilization, becoming an important driving force for new quality productive forces.

This biennial exhibition focuses on the contemporary highlights of arts and crafts development, showcasing over 700 works through extensive collection and careful selection, covering more than a dozen craft categories such as jade, stone, bamboo, wood, ivory horn carving, ceramics, lacquerware, lacquer painting, weaving, dyeing and embroidery. It is hoped that through these high-quality works, the profound heritage and dissemination of good art will be passed on, reflecting a beautiful life and interpreting the brilliance of the times.
