The Exhibition of the Ten-Year Achievements of China's Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors Training Program
2025-07-11The China's Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors Training Program is a special action plan aimed at the inheritors of intangible cultural heritage within the framework of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Law of the People's Republic of China on Intangible Cultural Heritage. It is an innovative initiative in the field of capacity building for the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage in China.
The goal of this program is to leverage the educational and research resources of professional institutions to assist a wide range of intangible cultural heritage inheritors and practitioners in enhancing their cultural awareness, strengthen cultural confidence, improve their skills and abilities in heritage protection and inheritance, enhance the teaching quality of intangible cultural heritage education in institutions, and promoting the systematic protection and sustainable development of intangible cultural heritage.
Since its launch in 2015, the training program has successively involved 149 undergraduate universities, vocational schools, and technical schools, directly training 51,000 intangible cultural heritage inheritors. More than 200 institutions have participated, benefiting over 200,000 intangible cultural heritage inheritors.
Over the past decade, various participants have explored and developed a series of teaching systems, work norms, and management methods, establishing a broad platform for professional institutions to participate in the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. This has injected youthful vigor into the cause of intangible cultural heritage protection and has had a profound impact on various aspects of intangible cultural heritage protection.
This exhibition is organized into four themed areas based on traditional crafts, performing arts, rural revitalization, and academic achievements, showcasing excellent works, academic research, and innovative achievements in industry-academia-research generated over the past decade by the program through physical displays, live performances, multimedia interactions, and other means.
