The Spring Festival, celebrated as the grandest and most significant traditional festival of the Chinese nation, is akin to an epic masterpiece that marks the beginning of the new year. It paints a vibrant picture of the Chinese civilization's spiritual identity, carrying the profound cultural heritage accumulated over millennia. Serving as a resilient cultural bond, it tightly connects the Chinese people, symbolizing a time for family reunions and shared joy, as well as a vivid manifestation of the Chinese cultural wisdom of "harmony between heaven and humanity" and "coexistence in harmony". As time passes and seasons change, the Spring Festival stands as a marker of the cyclical nature of time and a solemn ritual for bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new while wishing for a prosperous future. These traditions not only express the ideal of harmony between humanity and nature, but also foster a social atmosphere of kindness, respect, and harmony, inspiring a spirit of striving for excellence.

In December 2024, the Spring Festival, as part of the social practices of the Chinese people in celebration of the traditional new year, was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This recognition marks the international community's high regard for the festival.

As a living heritage, the Spring Festival conveys the spiritual essence of the Chinese nation through diverse social practices such as pasting Spring Festival couplets, staying up late on New Year's Eve, and exchanging New Year greetings. It is a cultural practice that involves everyone, reflecting people's lifestyles, values, and social relationships, and plays a crucial role in building a shared spiritual home for the Chinese nation.
